TITLE: Digital Production Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Visual Resources
HOURS: Full time, 37.5 hours/week

POSITION SUMMARY:
The MIA seeks an experienced individual to assist the Visual Resources department in the production, distribution, organization and preservation of high quality digital images. Duties include: index, archive and assign metadata to digital image files of museum collections and programs for entry into asset management system; assist in the organization and maintenance of digital images on multiple network servers, local hard drives and back up archive; assist with quality control and color management of digital files; maintain departmental imaging hardware, calibrate monitors and install software upgrades; perform image enhancement and retouching as requested; track orders and fill requests for digital prints, digital slides, disk media, electronic transfer via email, internal servers and FTP.

Requirements include: college degree or technical degree in related area or equivalent experience; three years related work experience in photography; extensive understanding of Macintosh and Windows operating systems; considerable Photoshop experience as well as proficiency with color management, databases, digital printers and scanners. Familiarity with the arts is strongly preferred.
